"georgia" Has Left The Building

So I went to Ad Here the 13th blues bar on Fri night with great anticipation to hear fabulous Georgia with the Banglamphu Band. It had been a few months since my last blues fix and Georgia does it RIGHT. Not much reason otherwise for me to bother coming into Bangkok proper.

Waited, waited while some Thai folksinger entertained. Folksinger, <deleted>?

At 10:30 I was pretty well disappointed and asked the waiter,

"Where's Georgia?"

"Go England. Her husband England"

"ENGLAND? When's she coming back?"

"Three years."

I left immediately w/o even finishing my beer.

Well, a critical loss for the blues scene in Thailand, which is practically non-existent anyway. Anybody ever hear of her coming back, let us know. Georgia! Wotta woman.

Georgia has gone and come back before. She'll be back. Meanwhile the Banglampoo Band is still worth hearing, even with Phil instead of Georgia.

Georgia's husband here. Sorry! Anyway we plan to return to Thailand in January for a short holiday, so she'll be singing in Adhere13th then. She's starting a band here in London too. Looking for a mixture of Thai and farang blues musicians. She performed a fantastic acoustic set at the Greenwich Thai festival yesterday (after her Italian backing band let her down at the last minute). She'll be happy to know she's missed.

Good to know...

What happened to Michael, the drummer, from Manchester?

It has been years that I didn't see him.

OK, we're well into January. Anybody know if Georgia's back or not? Missin' my blues fix.

Still in England. And I still recommend seeing the current configuration, they're great. They've added a dozen original songs to their repertoire and have recorded a rocking CD as well.

Got a PM from brokenmoose. Georgia will be back at Adhere on the 17th and then also singing there for about 10 days in early February. :)
