Chiang Rai Invasion Of Nakhon Ratchasima.

Featured Replies

For reasons I won't bore you with here I may have to have a run down to Nakhon Ratchasima sometime in the next couple of months. Can I call it Khorat? Help me out here, I don't know the proper thing.

I've pretty well mapped out the shortest route but was wondering if it was easier, if obviously longer, to go around through Khon Kaen.

And what do people actually DO in NR/Khorat? Bearing in mind I'll be accompanied by the little woman, which will restrict my sight seeing to more inanimate objects.

Hotels? Central, not too expensive, may have to be dog friendly....

The Siri Hotel. Center of town and recently renovated. Air-con, tv,shower etc. Nice and clean and only 380 baht without breakfast or 450 with. Dont think you will have any luck with the dog though.

What sort of dog is it and how long are you down here for?

Also the official name is Nakhon Ratchasima (as on a map) but everyone knows and refers to the city as Korat.

Thanks for that, it's just a small dog and may not come.

Not sure when, or even if, we're coming, possibly next month... and it would only be for 2 nights, 3 at the longest.

I'm just getting a few of my ducks in a row in anticipation.

Well if you are looking for something to do when your here there is a fantastic zoo just outside korat and on the way there is a new fossil and dinasaur museum which is well worth a visit too.

Sorry I have never driven from the north so I cant help you with the route.

There is an animal hospital here that boards dogs but they keep them in small cages which I guess would be alright if its a small dog and you were just leaving it for the night.
