I guess you missed my post that has a translaiton of her registration I did yesterday.

The card could of been red when it was issued. But in the pictures it looks white.

Yes I read your post with the translation. Highlander or hilltribe person denotes a geographic location, it does not identify ethnicity or nationality. Highlanders are issued with a blue or green with red frame Thai ID card. Winson1742 insists that his GF has a pink Thai ID card, these were issued to displaced Burmese. There is also reference made to migrant workers using a pink ID card or labor card.

Any other pieces of information you two have neglected to pass along? The more we dig, the better it gets! 152 posts and 2620 views into this topic and we are just now finding out that she has had a green Hilltribe ID card. This is better than the soaps on television.

Can you please ask your girlfriend WHERE DOES SHE COME FROM. If you can give us a clear answer to that, people will be able to help you much more effectively. It may also help if you can tell us if she is a hill tribe (ethnicity) or not, as there are a number of advocacy groups that may be able to help.

Is there online services in thailand immigration department to apply for travel document?

It is not an immigration issued document. It is done by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. You are just going to have to keep trying to contact them. Give them some time to answer your email, Yesterday was the first day that they were working since you sent it.

It might speed things up and also might save your girl friend a trip if you could find a lawyer that has delt with cases like this. It might save you a lot of time and effort if you hired one.

I am sure one of the oranizations that were suggested earlier might even be able to reccomend one.

I have a feeling that you will have to do it where she registered. We still not are not sure yet that you can get married here.

Have her ask about getting married in Bangkok.

These are the reply from MFA.

I'm so dejected

Reportedly, refugees from Myanmar are issued with the pink identity cards which allow them to have access to certain areas only. As they are not Thai citizens, they cannot be issued with Thai identity card or passport.

There is one type of travel document known as "Emergency certificate" which can be issued to them to leave Thailand. But once they leave Thailand, they cannot re-enter.
