Khao Phra Wihan National Park Is Reopened

I was told by a friend that Khao Phra Wihan National Park had just been reopened, so I went to check it out (on my mountain bike)

a couple of days ago.

And the yes.................. black uniformed soldiers/rangers armed with machine guns and smiles, lets you in if you leave your passport or other valid Id card at the entrance.

However the border dispute with Cambodia remains unsolved, so the absolutely amazing temple site itself, can not be visited.

There were only 2 other tourists (from UK) there at the same time as me, also on their bicycles, and they passed me on the way up.

(I didn't enjoy being overtaken by the English, but I calmed myself down realizeing they were 2 against 1 :o )

No shops were open, and unless you want to see the view from Pha MO I Daeng cliff, and catch a glimpse of the temple from a distance, or like to explore one of the nature trails, unfortunately there is not much to offer.

Lets just hope that the joint Thai/Cambodian border committee can make progress, so this truly fantastic place again can be visited from both countries. :D
