30 workers sent to hospitals following gas leakage in Rayong

Rayong - Thirty construction workers in the Mabtapud Industrial Zone fainted following a mysterious gas leakage Friday morning.

Fie of them were sent to the Rayong hospital and 25 others to the Mabtapud Hospital.

The workers were working on a construction project inside a factor of PTT Chem Plc inside the zone.

Surapan Bamrungsuk, the emergency director of PTT Chem, said the leakage did not happen inside the factory. He said there was no report yet what gas caused the foul smell that caused the workers to become unconscious.

He said all workers have been released from the hospitals except four them being admitted as inpatients at the Mabtapud Hospital.

All the workers said the gas smell caused them to vomit and eventually faint
