I you mean BKL between Seka and Ban Paeng, many farangs there. Aleast 10 permanently, and 10-20 on and of. A bar called the PitStop.

Many in Seka (9kms avay) also.

I lived 11 km away, and wnet there eveyday. I stayed for 2 years, but coundn't stay in the jungle.

I was so stupid to build a house close to the inlaws, and in the end I couldn't stand it anymor. Brand new house, a big lawn/garden, an orchid collection and a small pond. All on 2-4 rai. I have abandonded it.

But staying in BKL proper is OK, go there and take a look and talk to the farangs (english, swiss, german, american etc.)

And if you are a handyman and practical, and like a small village life, may be my wife will sell you the house cheap.

Yes that's the place with the big reservoir in between, i only ask as i was looking for a place to retreat to during the months of Jan to April as down hear in Chiang mai gets pretty hazy during the burning season.

My G/f is from thir BKL and i had a visit about 2 years ago met a Swedish guy(hard to miss) who drives around in a skylab (3wheeled type of tuk tuk) nice guy.

I liked the area and i would have two choices rent for the 3-4 months or build a small 1-2 bedroom place for the purpose of staying up there part of the year.

It would be agreeable for me to find some farrang that is why i asked about if any one had any experience with the area.

Where are you now ? i would be interested in knowing more

Regards

Steve

I am in Udon Thani. There are some resorts and bungalows for rent, but you have to go there to see for yourself. PM me your telephone number and I will tell you more. If the man in question agrees, I will give you the number to the owner of the bar.
