Not much of a departure from the present shape in my opinion. I think with the luke-warm response the current one has received, they could have been a bit more adventurous, but i guess they probably didn't have the budget to start the design from scratch. This one is obviously just a mid-life facelift.

Unless money isn't an issue (by that i mean in terms of money you'll lose in depreciation), and unless you really like to separate yourself from the crowd, i'd be sticking to the Camry or the Acccord - two cars you can't go wrong with.

The website says "Modern luxury living in the perfect union of form and function".

I am not sure about that but the model which is very similar here, that is powered by a v6, is a nice car. A friend has one.

Nissan Teana, as ugly as ever.... :o

Just compare it with a Camry or Accord....I wonder why Nissan still sells the Teana.

Personal taste.....

Not sure they do actually. I mean yes they are in the showroom, but i'm not sure if anyone actually goes in and buys one!

Pick a used car website...... Look at 2nd hand 2005 - 2008 Nissan Teana then look at same year Toyota Camry there is about the same amount For Sale.

As for driving around I would say I have seen as many Teana as Camry on red plates, and maybe double that amount of Accords

I'm not sure how much we learn from the number of used cars of a certain model there are on the market. Could just reflect that more owners of the Camry and Accord are happy to hold onto their cars than Teana owners.

As for the number of Teanas about on red plates, as compared with Camrys and Accords, not sure exactly where you are seeing all these Teanas but in my part of Bangkok i reckon you've more chance of spotting Thaksin than you have a new Teana!

Maybe it is what you get for the price... ?

Teana 2lt is 1.155,000

Same equipment on a Camry 2lt is 1.285,000

The cheapest Accord is 1.265,000

Even the top model is some 200,000 cheaper than the others, so maybe this is the reason? If I had to buy then the Accord looks the best to me.

Maybe this is the reason for what exactly?

That they ever sold/still sell...... you could buy a lot of petrol for 200k

You might save money when you buy a Teana but you'd lose money when it came to selling it, so it swings in roundabouts.

Still interested to know where you are seeing all these red-plated Teanas that out-number Accords and Camrys. Do you happen to live opposite a Nissan garage or something?!

I said As for driving around I would say I have seen as many Teana as Camry on red plates, and maybe double that amount of Accords

No but there all on the main road, my Village is 7km to the main road, just happened to notice 3 red plated Teana' but only 2 Camry, but about 5 Accords, about 12 of the new City on Saturday

As I said on a different post, this year there appears to a lot more red plated cars than I have ever seen in the 5 previous years.. Lots of Thai built, but also a good few European cars + very expensive cars 5 - 20 odd million price range.

Theirs 2 different BMW M3's, 4 different 7 series, a X5, Lots of different Mercs + a bad looking one called Mercedes-Benz R350 wagon.. The most expensive I pasted last week on the main road was a Bentley Arnage,

No idea where they came from but there are 2 Audi A8 about [maybe in a few years there be cheap enough to change my A6] a Audi Q7 and 2 TT's

In the next Soi at Tesco Express there is often a new Orange 4x4 Nissan Murano and a Black 4x4 Range Rover both on red plates. also on this road have seen a number of time 2 different Porsche 4X4 Cayman's and a Lexus 4x4 RX350

May come as a surprise but not everyone buy's a motor with the resale value in mind!.

I intend to run my Nissan into the ground then some more.

Over the years I will then be able to put a little aside as maybe we will all be driving electric cars by then.

Have never been able to understand people who say this.

Depreciation should always be a consideration because even if you have no plans to sell, it speaks a lot about the product you are buying.

And anyway, who knows, perhaps some disaster will strike (god forbid) that forces you to sell.

Depreciation doesn't say much about the product you are buying.

Certainly not here in Thailand.

Depreciation always says something about the product you are buying.

If it's high, it means the product isn't popular. You have to ask yourself why.

If you come to the conclusion that it's just because the consumer (in this case Thai people), wouldn't know a good car if it came up and bit them on the backside, then that's your choice.

For me, whilst i share other peoples' disappointment in the lack of variety there is on Thai roads, i can actually understand why Thai people prefer the likes of Honda and Toyota - i think they have good reason to. Perhaps in the future if some of the other brands can get their acts together and really get serious about Thailand, Thai people may change their opinion - but for now they have enough reasons not to.

As a Toyota owner yourself Jareddiving, surely you agree?
