ive seen in the yahoo search theres alot of them but is it true it will speed up the diul up conection???

thank You all

There are two (or maybe more) types of accelerating your internet connection.

1 - Programs who optimize your Windows settings

example: Internet Cyclone (dialup)

DSL-Speed (ADSL)

2 - Programs which download files in multiple parts

example: Internet Download Accelerator

Both are available on compilation disks at Pantip and other copy software locations.

Don't expect a lot of improvement though on dial up.

Watch for spyware in programs like this.... :o

The download assistants can help where you want a large file, but the line

is going up and down. They allow downloads to be restarted, from where they left off.

Otherwise it is pot luck.

hello,

if you use IE, proxyconn does a vey good job. basically its sends you r datat to a proxy and compresses it. this is especially good for websites heavily load with picutres. i have personaly tried it, but i use opera and it doesn't work with this browser. one drawback is its cost, 5 pounds sterling one mont. of course, you can get it on emule.

if you want to browse quickly, maybe you can use the opera browser, it is quick and gives you the option to turn off all the pictures, java, and most of the formatting, so all you get is pure text. (it still shows buttons and such, and the text is not lumped together in one big mass. try it, its like a 6 mb download and free. it shows one banner ad, but i have a crack i can send!

p.s i always connect at 36k, if it wasn't for opera i think i would shitcan the internet. i can actually surf at a decent speed. and by the way, you can toggle the pictures on and off. i <deleted> hate advertisements, especially something i am paying for anyhow.

To speed up my Internet connection (feels like it works), I use TweakMaster Pro - http://www.tweakmaster.com

You can find a serial number out there somewhere in cyberspace for this if you're so inclined.

As for download managers, Internet Download Accelerator does just fine as sniffdog suggests using.
