Just a heads-up that the Royal Orchid Gold check-in counters have moved from aisle H to aisle B, making it quite a hike from the furthest taxi drop-off point. I checked-in there an hour ago hoping that it would be fast-track immigration but no such luck- one has to walk back over to the central international immigration area.

So for those of you who are ROG members remember to exit one's car or taxi at the first door or it'll be a lot of exercise.

I just checked in also a couple hours after crash999's post. Sorry now I didn't log onto this forum before!

Yes this new check-in layout screws the TG ROP Gold members, in my opinion. When I was redirected to aisle B I was thinking ... "terrific, I can go thru the business class immigration" .... but alas no such luck. They've closed those immigration counters. I didn't do a search but business and first class must have been move to the center of the check-in hall. Everything else around the ROP checkin counters are domestic flight check-ins. Crash999 is correct, it's a long hike from the new ROP Gold check-in to the international immigration booths.

There were also an unusually large number of passengers checking in at the ROP Gold counters. I fly in and out of Bangkok about twice a month and haven't ever seen this many passengers at the ROP Gold counters before. I think in the confusion, some of the Business class passengers were using the ROP Gold check-in rather than taking the long hike to the center of the terminal.

Thai Business & First class passengers are now (today) using the "VIP" immigration booth section. This immigration booth section in mid-terminal has been in operation for a couple of months now and was created by blocking off about 6 counters (and installing a wall) in the usual immigration section for international economy passengers. Another reason for long lines at the outgoing immigration lines for economy passengers.

Anyway I guess all this re-organization is a result of all the domestic flights being moved from Don Muang. But again it makes for a slower check-in for ROP Gold members. You would think with TG's financial problems they would be trying to pamper their frequent fliers. But as Bernard Trink used to say ... "TIT".
