CHONBURI: -- The Civil Court Tuesday ordered the seizure of Bt11 million worth of assets of Somchai Khunplume or Kamnan Poh and his son, former Chon Buri MP Witthay Khunplume.

The court ordered the seizure of 11 bank accounts of the two worth Bt11 million after the Supreme Court found Somchai, former mayor of Tambon Saensuk in Chon Buri guilty of corruption and sentenced him to five years and four months in jail.

One down... a couple of hundred to go :o

Still... I read more and more about officials in the "inner circles" getting busted for corruption. This is a good sign so lets hope the trend continues.

...and speaking about corruption, I wonder who would the least corrupt country in the world might be.. (again)

His son is the Mayor and another Govenor of Chonburi if I am not mistaken. He is way to connected to ever spend a day in prison or to loose any funds he hasn't agreed to sacrifice

Mayor of Pattaya!

And Wittaya is Chairman of the Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization. but when the family is worth well over 500 million baht, paying 11 million to get the courts off their back is a fair compromise.
