Moving House

Hello folks

We are moving house from Udon to Ubon soon. Does anyone know of a firm or person in either Udon OR Ubon that could supply some sort of furniture and personal effects removal service.

We will need something up to the size of a three tonne truck rather than a pick-up.

Don't have the foggiest idea about Udon, but out here in the weeds, there are NO moving companys. If we want to move furniture from one place to another, you find a man with a 6 wheel enclosed song taow, basically the same thing as a small school bus (roof, slide up windows & 2 rear doors + a roof rack). We got one for a friend that moved to Ban Chang from Muk. The seats come up & stow on the sides. He charged an extra 1000 Bt for 2 more men to help load & unload upon arrival. Total cost 13,000 Bt, IIRC. One day down & one day back for the truck/fuel, driver & 2 helpers. I think Udon to Ubon is going to be a little shorter trip, but not by an appreciable amount.

But have the wife ask around the village. Seems like every other village has a man with a truck or 2. You are going to have to supervise loading, because, frankly, they don't have a clue. He will not have any pads either, so find the guy that recycles cardboard & buy a couple or 5 bundles from him & use the flattened boxes to protect furniture, appliances, etc.
