New Tyre Advise

Featured Replies

Well it's around that time for 4 new tyres...

The current ones are the standard Bridgestone 245/70/16's

I'm just wondering if I can go any bigger on the std alloy?... Maybe 265/75/16's?... or can you get 265/80/16's?

I'd like to go bigger to raise the truck a couple of cm for the rainy season...

Does anyone have any idea on price of tyres? I'd like to stick with Bridgestone as they're a pretty good make.

I'm based on Samui, so they're probably more expensive here. I might look to buy elsewhere. Maybe ship them down from BKK and fit them here?

Any advise is welcome.

Matt.

Stick with the standard size but have your mechanic put in a suspension lift kit. A 2" lift kit for a leaf spring axle is basically a metal block and new 'U' bolts at each axle/spring point. Your axle will still have same relationship with the road but the body will sit 2" higher. If you have coil front springs it's better to replace the coils and shocks with longer aftermarket items. Have fun with it!
