THE BODY of a Western man was found on Phuket's Nai Harn beach at 6.30am today.

Chalong police, called to the scene, estimated the man had died about seven days earlier.

Locals found the tattooed mystery man, dressed only in red underwear or swimming trunks.

The left shoulder bore a tattoo of a dragon and on the right, a dolphin. The back of the man's left hand carried a tattoo of a tiger.

CHALONG, PHUKET: Phuket Police have yet to identify the remains of a heavily tattooed Caucasian man found washed ashore on Nai Harn Beach late last week.

Lt Col Boonlert Onklang of the Chalong Police told the Gazette today that no missing person reports have been filed to aid in identification of the body, which remains in the Vachira Phuket Hospital morgue.

Tattoos are a well-known aid to police in identifying dead bodies, but they have been of little help in this case – even though the man was covered from head to toe in them.

As for the exact cause of death, the hospital has yet to issue an autopsy report, Lt Col Boonlert said.

Police suspect the man drowned while swimming three or four days before and was brought by currents to Nai Harn Beach, where it washed ashore. spacer.gif– Khunakorn Terdkiatkhachorn

Did you accidentally reply to the wrong thread? There is a different Summer season thread running...............maybe check again.

On topic, there has been a pretty powerful swell in; last weekend it was really strong, so not surprising that someone drowned.

I'd imagine someone will recognize the tats, any chance to get photos of those (not to gory ones) and run them by the Muay Thai camps?
