Hi. I need to know 2 things:

1) Where is there a good taxi service I can call to pick us up and take us to the airport? We need an oversized taxi to accomodate all our suitcases and bags. I think it's called an MU-7. We'd prefer it if they can speak with us in English.

2) How do I contact Cathay Pacific to correct a misspelled name in my online ticket reservation? Ir is only one letter, but I want to have it fixed just to be sure. Do I call Cathay's ticket office at the airport? Is there a fee? What do I do?

Appreciate your help, thanks.

Take the BTS (Skytrain) to Chitlom Station and it's on the opposite side of the road from Central Chitlom. It's called Ploenchit Tower or similar. You can expect a big problem changng the name - unless you can prove they made the mistake - i.e. you have written confirmation that you sent the correct spelling. Otherwise it will cost you a ticket reissue fee.

Yes, you must get the spelling error corrected, whatever the cost. International travel laws etc., require 100% correct match between name on ticket and on passport.

I had an experience with this before, flying with one of my Thai work colleagues to Melbourne. Thai colleague didn't checking the spelling, at Don Muang airport the Thai check-in staff noticed the error but said 'never mind'.

At check-in in Melbourne they politely said no, you will have to go the Thai International office in the city and get it corrected. Airport staff suggested I go with my colleague to city office to sign letter of confirmation that I knew the person and believed that there was a spelling mistake rather than a different person. Airport staff also called their city office and told them to expect our arrival and changed us to a much later flight. City office staff were polite and efficient but the paper work was quite time consuming. Staff explained that the process was according to international law. Supervisor promised she would send letter of complaint to Bangkok in regard to being allowed to board aircraft in Bangkok.

Back at Melbourne Airport, go to check-in, our names instantly recognised and supervisor is called, apologises for the need to go back to city etc., After check-in is completed she personally escorts us thru Immigration etc., and takes us to executive lounge.

Different point - I'm surprised that someone has experienced poor service at Cathay Pacific office. I have used this airline maybe 20 times, staff have always been very efficient, friendly and customer focused.
