What Are They Like?

Featured Replies

Just after a bit of info,

has anyone had installed one of these phone/internet lines that does not come from a land line? I believe they are made by Erikkson! I am not sure if it is connected to some sort of Satellite dish or receiver of some sort.

does it have 1) good reception 2) fast download 3) reliable 4)cost effective?

I am having a house built and we can not get a phone line, so this will be our only option at this time. any help would be appreciated?

I am not sure it would be legal.

The laws here are very old fashioned and there are goverment monopolies.

I cannot answer to the legality there. I have a Vonage phone from the U.S.A. and it works just fine. I can take it to Pattaya, plug it into my broadband, and I can make a U.S. call free. (You cannot tell the difference between it and Ma Bell).

International call are also very cheap – Australia/Europe $0.02/munite, etc.

This is the wave of the future. You must have always on broadband with at least 64KB of uplink speed.

I have had mine for about a year, and I think it’s great!

yes, you can use it here - works perfect for European calls. And "it is not illegal - so it is legal" what would be illegal is to sell phone calls as service without license.

Erickson is fine, we use it for last 3years, since friends brought it from EU

Does it work with ipStar? If it does I will sign on. PM me if this is the case so that you can get credit for signing me up. I think you will get one months credit.
