I'm not sure whether this works in both directions, but United have been offering some very competitive fares beginning a couple of weeks ago from BKK to the USA. They have historically been the most expensive, but with a recent addition of promotional fares, they now appear to be the cheapest, at least from a recent trip that I made to the USA.

This wont answer your question but will give you a little info on pricing from this end to compare.

We flew on All Nippon Airline (ANA) from Bangkok, Narita, Dulles for B50,000 r/t.

do you have any dates that you are traveling on.

it is better to have some dates to check, because it is a different fare every day,.

Flying Easterly from DC to BKK through europe tends to be a bit pricey with connections in London or Germany. I suggest you look booking your flights separately. Get cheap RT from DC to LAX. China air has flights now for $703 roundtrip. from LAX to BKK. I am in Florida and it is cheaper for me to book a flight to LAX and then book China air separately than just booking from Florida to BKK. Expedia or Orbitz will let you poke around for the best deals.
