Remote Controlled Cars

Featured Replies

I am wanting to buy my stepson a remote controlled car. I'm not talking about the cheapie style ones, but the full-on fuel/nitro type cars that you can buy here in the UK. They cost anywhere from 150-300 GBP so I would expect to be paying about 7500-15,000 baht out in Thailand.

Does anyone know of any shops either in Bangkok or Udon Thani that specialises in these types of cars. Thanks.

In Udon Thani:

"Armorm" - shop is at crossroad, beginning of street into Chern Chim ....

or check the toy section at Robinson Department Store at CheronSi Complex.

There's a good shop in the basement level of the Zeer IT Mall at Rangsit, in Bangkok. They had a good selection of radio controlled stuff las time I was there. I can't remember the name of the shop, but it'll be easy to find.

There is a Tamiya dealer in RCA plaza, a R/C track with a pro shop behind Seacon Square, and Saphan Lek is fill of hobby shops.

You can also find magazines centered around the R/C scene in Thailand at most bookstores.

A few years ago, I bought a Tamiya TG-10 Mk. 1 with a radio kit for the reasonable price of 15k.

Good luck.

there is a new shop in the carpark of Molly Malone's in Silom. it has just opened and has all sorts of remote control cars. the larger type that run on something other than batteries. looks cool and I am thinking of getting one for my little boy so he can play with it when he is older :)

There used to be a good place in the basement of Fortune, and another used to be on the 'green route" soi between Sukhumvit 23 and 31. That latter one was excellent but have not been in that area for a while now, so not sure if its still there.
