I am a pay monthly, long term, customer with AIS and for previous few weeks have been receiving unsolicited SMS text messages from NewsPlus, [even my cleaning lady is getting them]

I don't want them--can't read them as they are in Thai[even though ALL communication texts to me from AIS are in English]--and have informed AIS Cust. Service that they are unwanted--they then sent a reply SMS saying that they have cancelled 'Content Provider's messages'--only trouble is that they haven't! They still flood my inbox daily--about 5-10 per day. Anyone else suffering similarly--any sensible suggestions how to get rid--can I block a particular sender?

Just be glad you're not in the USA or Canada, where you get to Pay for the unwanted Spam that you receive, ...

They pay for SMS.. OUT and IN !!!!

At least in Thailand, you may get it, but it doesn't cost you any more than the inconvenience of having to delete them.

We were getting nailed for 3 baht for each of those 'adverts' we received. Went through several phone calls before going in, like you said, then they stopped. Now we only get SMS's from AIS telling us they're gonna take 99 or 199 baht out each month for some special 'promotion.' And those tend to come in at 1 in the morning! I know, we could shut the phones off, but we actually do get calls in the middle of the night that we want to take, family and friends overseas and such.

Class action in LoS - I'd imagine if you won, and all the monies garnered went to the lawyers, then the lawyers would still want more money, eh...

But AIS *had* to be in on it, otherwise why would they allow it to go on so long? Anybody we know still own stock in that company?

Why would anyone want to join a class action lawsuit, the only people that get rich from them are the lawyers??

could you clearly identify the excessive charge of 32 Baht in your phone bill?

Class action law suit? A visit in person at your providers office will save you a lot of money... and bring that "spamming" to an end -

it won't work with a complain over the phone! These are my experiences. TiT

As far as I know I am not being charged, as I say my cleaning lady gets the same news updates and she probably doesn't pay for unnecessary stuff--not sure tho'--I shall haul down to AIS Cust. Service centre monday and do the complaining bit.

I am surprised that no other TV members are receiving this stuff as I was of the opinion that they were widespread--deleting messages all day gets tiresome--you also tend to miss important sms as you assume they are same spam and don't open them immediately.

Sorry, couldn't find any other topics relating to same problem--maybe include a link to yours as there may be useful replies in it.
