If i buy a DVD writer. Can i use this to write Cds? Ie. If i wanted to save something to disc or burn music using a normal Cd and not a DVD. Sorry if this is a stupid question. But i just want to check. Thanks.

They are normally combos jock and will write everything.just check on the box.

Yes, DVD writers will also write CD-Rs and CD-RWs. However, there are *some* writers that will only write to a certain type of DVD, either "+" or "-" format. Most current ones will write to both.

Thanks guys. Thats what i thought. Was gonna buy a DVD combo thing for around 1500 baht. But i thought i'd pay the extra and get a DVD writer. Thus no need for combo set. As these will play DVDs and write CD-r's but not burn DVDs. Cheers.
