Hey for you engineer types out there, how big around is this new cable?

Just wondering.

I had guarded optimism for an improvement in speed with the new underground cable, but either the cable's not done yet, or any hope is futile.

I have 5Mbps MaxNet Indy in Pattaya area for B1,000/month. Up until about June, I got decent download speeds, but I just got a typical test result from speedtest.net (just after 5pm on a Wednesday):

I usually test Los Angeles, but I tried three times and got latency errors ... couldn't even ping the server. Test results to Bangkok are full-speed -- just under 5Mbps -- so it's not anything to do with my local connection.
