Classic Car Garage - Bangkok .

Featured Replies

Hi I am visiting Bangkok in a couple of weeks and would like to spend a morning looking at some garages with some classic cars .

for sale .

I believe there were a couple somewhere down the Asok road on the right last time I came . ?

Anyone have any idea where I can find ?

Thanks,

Rick .

:) Rick,

I've posted much the same previously but here it is again:

The best place to start is Rengboon Auto In Bangkok the best place to go is Rengboon Auto Classics. The workshop/showroom is on Pattanakarn Soi 35 and is always worth a visit as typically there are 20+ classic cars undergoing restoration and 10+ classic cars stored there. The owner is Khun Yo, an extremely nice guy who speaks fluent english and is both passionate and knowledgable about classic cars. He typically has and/or knows of a few cars for sale. Additionally, he is the best man in the kingdom to talk to if you want a classic car and are prepared to pay the THAI price for same (the cost of classic cars here is certainly well above that in the UK or the US).

Additionally, there is also a small dealer near my house in Bangkok tho often has some very nice classics, recently he has had an LHD XK 150 coupe in very good condition (which I would have aquired if it was RHD) and he currently has a 60's Alfa sedan which appears to be in good shape. Feel free to PM me if you fancy a "quick trip" around when you are in BKK.

Khun Yo's garage and have heard of it before somewhere , possibly Bangkok post article. I have owned several classics in the

UK and re built a 350 SLC in N.Africa . Not sure I am ready for another one at Thai prices but you never know . !

Hi tevee , many thanks , visited R/Autos last Sunday , the son let me in , wish I had found this place a bit sooner before the stock market crash . ! Interesting projects going on in the workshop were , 2 early e types , an XK and a huge Check er type black US cab . There was also an early MG 1600 with " wood " interior . Interesting.

In the showroom there was a superb , fully restored , Spitfire Mk 3 , not my favourite but they had done it out beautifully.

Thanks again .
