Any suggestions as to what to do with a noisy parrot next door that shrieks every morning at dawn and in the late afternoon and evening? This bird is really disturbing my sleep and much noisier than the wife

whats the old saying "better to have a noisy parrot in the ear, than two cocks in the bush?"

In the bush or in the bed sir?

A very apt user name, any chance you can flutter over and sort the problem out for him, I hear grumpy old sparrows can be vicious :)

The sparrow has landed and the situation is well crispy deep fried...

Reading the old saying again I think I almost figure out the meaning if it...

Look's like the OP has flown the nest. Maybe he's not in either James, he could live on a ship. :)

Read something on the net the other day, thought it was a good tip.

Make friends with neighbor and tell you like parrots and want to see the little bastard bird. Bring a small botlle of Draino and throw in his food/drinking water. It will burn it's throat so he will not bother you for a week or so.

Good luck!

BTW, I like parrots..........

A ) Teach the parrot secretly to repeat always: "Mia noi tho sam laew sam eek" (Mia Noi calls again and again)

B ) Play bagpipes until the neighbour comes and than negotiate.

C ) Come in suit and tie and give an aquarium to the neighbour as a present and tell him after he took it you would like to have the parrot for that. That's serious custom in your country.

D ) Just free it, by looking at it and: "What a nice bird, I want to take it on my hand, whoops so sorry, it went out of the window"

Better idea. Have a wander around Chuchucak market pet section and tell them you are in the market for a mute parrot. Once you have bought said mute bird cunningly exchange it for the one next door.

What do you do with the noisy bird? Refer to the recipe above.

Problem solved. :D

I have carried out clandestine night time operations concerning the releasing of captive birds.

You think I'm joking. I'm not.

Dress in black and take wire cutters.

B ) Play bagpipe music until the neighbour comes and then negotiate....

Plan B should work, Thais hate bagpipe music ........ good luck finding a CD. :)

Don't forget to report back here.

Plenty of good advices here, and this bagpipe stuff must be awful indeed..You'll need earplugs anyway..So better act like a real man,and buy 3 or 4 healthy, jungle parrots :D

I hope you are not my neighbour, as my Mynahbird is a true chatterbox.

Buy some Earplugs or use some cotton wool in your ears, I am sure you will get use to it eventualy.

Like someone else said, its better than a pack of Soi Dogs.
