August 18, 200916 yr Not that I want to but I think it's causing my wifi connection to drop. I'm a bit of a technophobe when it comes to 'phones but I think Edge is a service provided by the 'phone service provider (mine is DTAC) to enable you to connect to the Internet through there service and you pay as you go? Well I don't want it to try to connect as I use the wifi function in the office and at home and as I say I get a message 'cannot activate Edge' and then a 'cannot find server' message from Safari. So my question is how can I stop my iPhone from automatically trying to activate Edge? It's not the 3G iPhone if this makes any difference.
August 18, 200916 yr i know there is a built in option to disable 3G but i don't see one for Edge, so if your Iphone is J/B you can download SBS Settings from the BigBoss repo, or just download the "Edge toggle" to switch it on and off as you pleased, otherways you can use just the wi-fi by putting your phone in "flight mode" and allowing the wi-fi to stay switched on (but your phone part will be disabled, so can't make or receive calls while doing this), hope that helps
August 19, 200916 yr Author Thank you for the suggestion, I'll give it a go in airplane mode. What is J/B? And what is BigBoss repo?

Even though they are horrid, they will send you a script t use for your phone. Should work out of the box. Kev

That might happen because you are running a different software version on your phone, mine is 2.2 and everything is running nicely, what's your version?
