Nok and Jo's sunday buffet in Bang Tao/Surin...150 baht all you can eat bbq, decent live music too

Good mixture of Thai and Western foods

Does anyone know of value for money restaurants in the chalong area or nearby.

I'm sure there are many, however one immediately springs to mind, and mentioned in similar topics, is 'Fatty's', about 50 metres up from the Chaofa East road entrance to Land and House. Excellent value, and consistently good quality. The other benefit is that whilst offering mainly German based food, the Thai food is also very good (not always the case in farang based restaurants) according to Madam. They close on Tuesdays, and inspite of the current decline in customers everywhere, they always seem to have healthy patronage. Could be difficult to get a table after 7.30 most evenings.

Isn't there already a sticky thread about this?

Yes, here

Wrong, value for money restaurants are not necessarily favorite restaurants.

Value-for-money eateries are always my favourites .... :)

In Chalong ... I eat at The Lighthouse or Fatty's.

I have eaten many times at the Anchor Inn on Chalong Pier Road (first restaurant on the left, just by the circle). Very good quality western & Thai food, decent portions at reasonable prices. Oh, and waitresses are rather cute...

Phuket Brewery is very good value Thai food, which is also extremely tasty. Western food also pretty good value.

And they are doing for 1 for 1 on the beer, so buy 3 ltrs and get 3 ltrs free!!!

The thai late night seafood place near the circle is not too expensive and the steamed fish with lime/garlic/chili is ridiculously good. It's opposite from what used to be Mike's Burgers.

The "Bann Kanom" bakery does pretty good Thai food and pizzas. My 4 yr old daughter can eat one of their lasagnas on her own - lurvely.

On CF East Road, on the same side as Siam Commercial bank, past Julapan stationery, there is one called "Big Food". Only been once, but was not disappointed at all.

Further up, past Fatty's, you'll see signs to the right for Parlai Seafood. Now, we reckon Parlai Seafood has gone downhill, but before you get to it, there is another road on the left. Take that, and you have more seafood restaurants on the bayside. One is particularly nice, but the name does escape me.

Finally, the leisure centre restaurant actually in Land and Houses park does decent grub too. Pity about the miserable faces, though.

Try the baker at Chao Fa East road some 50 meters from the circle ... some of the best tasting Thai food I've had in my 4 years in Phuket, and the price is just right.

In Parlai I think you mean: Tang Kae Seafood: seafood, Thai cuisine - Enjoy fresh seafood, traditional Thai cuisine and Phuket local dishes in peaceful beach-sied of Palai Beach. Located in Soi Palai (the same road with Phuket Zoo), Chaofa (East) Rd.

If you want cheap sausage-factory style Western eating, Jeffers in Jung Ceylon. Main course includes salad bar (also soups and desserts) and is relatively cheap. Not quality eating, but okay and very good value. Beef, chicken, pork, fish, etc (No Thai food.)

5 years visiting Chalong, eating all sorts, cafes, street vebdors and vendors on bikes.

Anchor Inn caught me one lunchtime.

Food tasted great, one problem, I had the shitz before getting back to my digs.

That was 3 years ago, neva again sadly.

Gunna miss Porn's 'Fush 'n' Chups'

The dim sum place along C F east is quite tasty and very cheap.

Know what you mean. We walked in one day for lunch, but the place looked a bit dirty and run down, so we passed on by and lunched at the Lighthouse..
