I want to change some Thai baht for Japanese Yen in Pattaya.

Does anyone know the best place? I once changed Thai baht for US dollars on a soi off Walking Street and received a fake $100 in my bundle.

Any personal experience/knowledge feedback appreciated.

Do it at the airport if youre heading out...or go to a bank or one of the banks agancies.

I have always found that Thai Farmers Bank are as good as any with their spread (between buying and selling) usually between 2 to 3 percent..

If you use back street dealers you are asking for trouble...

Which thai farmers bank has a supply of YEN? My branch is Pattaya Tai, there is one on Pattaya Klang etc. I think only some have currency.

How about the Krung Thai Bank kiosk on Pattaya klang in front of the bank? Do they deal in currency (to buy)?

Bank Gold on Soi Rungland is probably your best bet. It is the soi opposite the International Telephone Exchange on Pattaya Tai. The shop is on the left some thirty yards in.

Just give them a call on 038 420097 to check first.

You beat me to it!

But for J Yen I am not sure. They have changed Emirates Dinars / Saudi Riyals / Malaysian Ringgit and many other currencies for me previously, at far better rates than the main banks.

But if you have transport - try Laem Chabang. Many Japanese companies round there, or Sri Racha.
