If any one is looking for a great place for getting any type of irrigation products for your home garden or mini farm, I found an awesome shop in Pattaya that carries The full line(or pretty dam_n close) of Super products & rainbird products at 20-25% the cost that home pro & home works charges- with a massive inventory & the gal speaks English as well . Its off third rd near the Kansakorn bank next shop has 2 fountains in front. I have the telephone # if anyone wants it. They pretty much sell for the same price that global home sells theirs for without having to go down to Rayong. And they also carry western compression unions with O rings in black PVC same as in England U.S. Germany & Australia. :) Not like the cheap charlie blue PVC unions that can only handle 10 PSI.

I have over 100 palm trees planted on a couple rai of land. I purchased a considerable amount of "Super products" from the above mentioned shop. The Rainbird stuff is excellent but expensive. The so called Super Products are junk. It is all made of cheap plastic that quickly gets brittle in the sun. The hose, mainly the small 1/4" drip line, more or less useless. Within a few months it was and is cracking/splitting/leaking at the push on water feed connections. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a quality/uv resistant replacement in Thailand.

You are aware the correct way to put the line in is to bury it to avoid the sun beating it to death. The line I paid twice as much for is almost twice as thick but if not buried will die in the scorching sun just as quick. If you are going to put the line on top of the soil you would be better off with PVC & the couplers made of metal for longevity. I will agree some of Rainbird is better - But some of super products will last just as long. Lets not forget rainbird & super products are both built in Thailand & both have factories almost next to each other in Rayong. I used 30 100 meter rolls for 4&1/2 rai & get the same service from super products gear when used correctly. The brass products either companys are great. Most likely the parts are milled at the same plant. As for rain bird being better you have to chose. I can replace the same part 3 times for rainbirds cost & still have not replaced more than 10 heads in 3 years. It is like buying appliances here by a Electrolux oven for 11,000 or a Smeg for 24,000 they both will break down & you get the same crappy repair service for both.

The people I consulted with were Noon Nooche nursuries & they have 1000's & 1000's of rai & use both companies for different applications. They use super products irrigation on just about all the nursery land Knowingly the line that is exposed will need to be replaced as well as the other thicker plastic.

Seriously though if you are running an operation why don't you upgrade to PVC. That way it last up to 10 years & you only have to repair what breaks. I use PVC as well with my system.

Edit: I found for my own needs the 1/4 inch line is worthless except to terminate the line into the heads.Otherwise you run your pumps for many extra hours . If you T off all the lines with the irrigation line & put the indented connectors 2-3 inches from the end & seal the 22 mm.line with plastic ties(much cheaper than the sold figure 8 loop)

then just add a nub & a head or use it as a slow stream it works fine . To get the 1/4 " line to work properly like you want you need a grundafos cp line pump very expensive 60,000 baht.

Just thought it was worth posting a link to Irrigation Tutorials which seems to be one of the best sites available for info on all this stuff. I'm sure it's safest to assume all plastic fittings etc don't fare well in the sun - we've mulched over ours with coconut bits. Hope it works!

That is a very nice guide thanks for the link!
