my friends western union money doesnt show up for his wife and i cant get anything thru internet except for thai visa

other thai sites the server doesnt seem to work...

pm me if possible... tried western union site and same thing, thailand doesnt exist today...

I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank government regulators around the world (no, I'm not bitching about Western Union itself, whom most criticize) for devising a system that allows no other competitors to enter the market that Western Union obviously has cornered.

I know this doesn't help right now but why use Western Union? It is expensive and a pain in the @ss. I opened a separate savings account at my US bank and sent her the ATM card. It was 5 transactions a month free then but Citibank has changed that. It is now $1.50 per tranaction. Still much cheaper than Western Union.

because the guy is a thai foreign worker in israel and although legally he is allowed to open a bank account it costs too much in israel they charge a fortune to keep an account open and he gets only a a very small part of his salary in cash; the rest gets sent straight to his wife's account but the guys here manage to save cash (hi lo etc w/each other etc) and when he lucks out, he has cash that he wants to send also... there is western union and there is some thai wives of israelis that do something else that seems to be legal but i'm not sure but involves money transfers thru their bank account and the thai wives here make a fortune through this manouever but at the moment the one woman is in thailand so that leaves WU ...

Why not buy travellers' cheques, make them out completely signing twice, to the wife with additional info like her A/C #. Add ""A/C Payee only" on the fron adn on the reverse, "for deposit only". then mail them by insured mail.
