A new bookstore, The Book House & Coffee Shop has opened in Udon Thani. Selling both new and used books.

Made my first visit today. Was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the shop.

Walked away with books from four of my favorite authors: Michael Connolly, John Lescroat, James Patterson, and John Sandford. And...I only had time to peruse about one third of the entire selection of books available.

Looking forward to many future visits.

It is located across the street from a guest house named Ruysuk Hotel. Look for a large orange & black sign.

I did stop by Monday morn and had a good chat with Jeremy. I swapped 40 some paperbacks for credit and used that up with a number of books to bring home, where I'm at now. Will be able to take these books back for 50% credit later on next pass through Udorn.

Good place, stop by if you have a chance.

FYI, the wife & I stayed at the Ruy Suk GH, good enough place, especially for baht 340!!

Dinner at Steve's, real full platefull, took a doggie bag home, had it last night at Nam Phong, where we stayed with a friend.

The Kitchen is 95% finished at the Book House .

They have a couple of delicious meals on the menu at the moment- :

Choice pork chop (thick!) Pan Fried served with a homemade creamy mushroom sauce , french fries or mashed potatoes and freshly cooked vegetables.

Also a Sausage Casserole with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables .

3 Fatboy English Pork Sausages slow oven baked in a sauce of Onions , Sweet Peppers , and Mushrooms and spices including Paprika , Parsley , Sage , Marjoram and Nutmeg .. creamy mashed potaoes and mixed fresh vegetables ..

had that for my tea last night and its DELICIOUS !

Both meals priced at only 160baht .

Also a Avocado and Prawn Salad with a Pan Fried Chicken Breast and warm Lemon Sauce !! .. if its good, that will go on the menu also .

The are now serving Coffees ... Lattes , Cappucino, Flat White ...etc.

and for a limited time .. everyone gets a FREE Coffee of their choice ... Come sample what Italian Coffee tastes like

Everyday they get sent a few English Newspapers ...The Mail , The Sun , The Mirror and the Daily Star which customers can sit on the terrace and have a read .

FREE COFFEE and FREE PAPERS --What more could you want?
