Pullmann Hotel In Khon Kaen

The former SOFITEL the pride of the Issan Hotels in Khon Kaen had been upgraded to a PULLMANN, but stays in the ACCOR Hotels group.

I stay there sometimes since about 10 years, at my first stay, they had a similar promotion they have now running.

I think and feel its worth to mention it, that that Hotel is surely the 5 Star Hotel with the best price in Thailand. .

You can have in the moment in that 5 Star Hotel a Junior suite style room (with a free fruit basket),

on one of the top floors (I got one) for 2.350.- B. without BF

and for 2.700.- B. with BF for two.

The breakfast is a very good one of course,

and the 2 free Welcome drinks in the lobby (Can also be a Home brewed beer) are normal

-at the right night time with a good performing Barsinger-lady,

but you get also a Voucher for 1 Liter Home brewed beer in the Kronenbourg Rest. and Brewery -normal about 250 or 275.- B.

(With LIVE music from a good Band)

and you get a Voucher for 500.- B. free! consumption in any outlet or with the roomservice.

and you get a Voucher for 2 hours free Karaoke-for the fans of that.

A Voucher for 50 Percent discount on all Spa treatment

and a voucher for Discounts in all Hotelshops from 10-25%,

is probably not so important.

Enjoy, if you are nearby and can.

My folks used that promotion last time they stayed and reckon it's a good deal too. They coupled it with their ACCOR Privilege Card which gives 50% discount when dining in ACCOR hotels and ended up paying about 110 baht (for 2 people) in the evening buffet. Can't argue with that.

One of my mates came out with the classic "Who're those birds then?"

That reminds me of a classic a mate of mine came out with a few years ago.We were travelling back to the UK from Thailand but had broken our journey to stay for a few nights at a posh hotel in Dubai. We had separate rooms so on the first night I arranged to meet him in the hotel bar in a few hours time.I went to the bar and it was very posh with some very affluent looking english speaking people sitting around. My mate had bought a bottle of whisky at Dom-Muang and, unknown to me,had consumed half of it in his room before he came down to meet me in the bar !

He was half cut.He sat down, looked around and said very loudly "doesnt look as though we'll get a shag at this place !".....if the ground could have opened up.....

Anyway, back on topic.....myself and the wife stayed at the Pullman a couple of weeks ago.We have stayed before when it was the Sofitel. Its a gorgeous hotel and, quite possibly, our favourite in Thailand.

Those vouchers are great value. We stayed in the Lounge area drinking the lovely ice cool beer and sampling the delicious food. Also, for the ladies, theres a voucher for 50% off some of the Spa treatments.

I'd certainly recommend this hotel even if you only go on a special occassion....anniversary,birthday etc....excellent value for money.

well said-written, your comments are same I see it.

I recognized now, after I sent a small complaint by e-mail to the PULLMAN that the GM-Director now is the same from about 10 years ago when I first came as guest to the SOFITEL.

He answered my little complaint personly with a mail and I rememberd his name, we had now a short Internet discussion, he said he was here for 5 years,

ACCOR sent him to China meanwhile and he is happy to be here again.

This Voucher Promotions are maybe usual in good Hotels or with Accor, but with Mr.Nielsen the now GM, they are more recognicable.

So I look forward to be there again soon.

Try a stay there, if you are nearby, its recommanded.

They have also a nice Pool at the 4th floor, the Pool and area is not big for such a great Hotel, but I usualy saw no more than 10 people at the same time at the Pool. So enough space.

I second all the good reviews, our family stayed there and we loved it. The buffet was big enough and varied enough to keep our teenage son happy and sated and the younger child spent most of her time in the pool. It was a really good place to wind down in comfort for a day or two in the middle of our epic drive-around-Isaan-holiday. After a few nights in hard Thai beds at various relatives homes I was just grateful for their soft mattresses and pillows.

Pullman's good value......have a look at details of 34 hotels and guesthouses in Khon Kaen:

www.thailand-travel-help.com/khon-kaen-hotels.html

number 1 on the list is great value - Garden View, for 350 baht. Number 4, Piman Garden has really nice looking rooms for 950 baht - it's worth paying the extra 200 or so baht for the 950 baht rooms ...there's sofa...large room... there's a map on this page to help you find the accommodation

Yes Sir, well said.

It seems we all think the same, its a speciality here in Issan and from time to time, worth a visit.

When the crash hit last year.. I stayed there for 999 baht. Without breakfast. Junior room. I did not think it was that great.

But i wanted to try it for myself.

In Khon Kean there are countless condos that all have one night rates. From about 400 to 500 baht a night. That includes free coffee and you pay for breakfast.

They all have free internet and serviced everyday. The rooms are very big and I think better than the five star hotels.

Just my thoughts on the hotels here in KK. I live here so i am better equiped to find the deals i guess.

It is a beautiful hotel. And i see many farang there when i shop the mall.

In a Junior room?

That seems to be the really small rooms, nothing compared to that what you get now,

but anyway, it should only be an advise from me, that you can get a 5 Star+ service to a 3-4 Star price.

I do not believe that you can get that at an Khon Kaen private homestay.

The Charoengsri Hotel 4 Star I think, in Udon Thani offers now the normal rate from 1.700 B. for theire rooms.

When you recall all the goodies and possibilitys you have in the PULLMANN, than you are much better off in Khon Kaen.
