Ask yourself: Why would the US government not agree to get BL in court in front of an independent international jury if they where so sure about his involvement?

I remember the Taliban offering to give him up to an independent country. I wonder which one they had in mind? It would have to be one the US wouldn't be able to pressure to get him from. For that reason I have my doubts of their sincerity.

And it is not only the locals that are affected by that, it are all the soldiers that are there as well. How do you explain that?

Sorry soldier we have used DU munition to get rid of some of the nuclear waste and as a result you will die of cancer and some of the female soldiers will give birth to deformed babies if they even get get pregnant that is.

So finally one of the parties stepped up and refused to agree. That party might increase their number of seats in the parliament in the next election as people feel they did the right thing. The Davids commission with their report and conclusion might also have helped.

I agree the Dutch should focus their attention on their airports where they allow terrorists with explosives stuffed in their underwear board planes without a passort. I remember they were also the ones in the Balkans about 12-15 years ago who were dancing and singing (remember that video?) until the Serbs took them hostage. I think Holland is a great place and I like my Dutch friends but I think any military exercise could exclude them without missing a beat.
