I ride my motorbike and nothing else if I can. It;s about seeing, smelling, feeling where I travel.

But daughter plus friend are visiting. Both don't ride bikes , want to see North by car.

3 weeks.

1. What would you do? Nice scenery . nice places to stay, not posh but comfy.

2. Mae Hong Song, go there by car without throwing up. possible?

Ride a motorsai there- no car sickness.

Terrified, or exhilarated; your choice....:)

Make use of the public transport, either bus or taxi. Probably cheaper than the petrol if going by car.

Let someone else have the stress of doing all the driving and you, your daughter and her friend can relax and take in all the scenery.

How could anyone relax when there is a Thai at the wheel? Don't you remember that classic last line of every crash report involving public transport - 'The driver fled the scene'. :)

If I have visitors, I quite enjoy the drive to Chiang Rai & Mae Sai . I like to drive straight to Chiang Rai or Mae Sai - with a short stop at Charin resort for lunch or coffee and cakes - but return the next day via Payao, with a stopover at the White temple south of Chiang Rai (Wat Rong khun) and Payao for lunch.

If you think that Mae Hong Son is too much, Pai may be the answer. I quite like Doi Mae Salong at this time of year too.

A day trip to Lampang is quite pleasant.
