Freelance in bangkok

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

Since this is my first post here, please bare with me.

I've been dreaming about making the moove for a few years. But just recently made up my mind.I want to give it a shot.

But all this business and visa stuff,is very hard to comprehend.

And i am not at all sure that it can be done.

Here is my situation.

I am an 38 yo muisician, sound designer and composer.

I recently had a meeting with a friend in the business in bangkok, that convinced me that i would stand a good chance on getting some work in bkk.

At first i thought about setting up a new company, but that seems almost impossible, since i would not be able to come up with bht. 2m.

While there,i will still do some work for my old company,to make enough to get by.But i would still have to work on a freelance basis in bkk.

Please advice.What are my options?

Both visa vise and job vise?!?

Sincerely

Nickkbh

Why do you want to come to Bangkok??

Does your friend live here??

What did he tell you that made you decide to come here??

What options did he tell you about??

What specific "options" are you asking about??

Have you searched the board for specific answers??

Hi Bkkstan.

Ok i will try to be more specific.

"Why do you want to come to Bangkok??"

Mainly because i like it there, and bkk is the place to be in my business.

"Does your friend live here??"

Yes she does, she is Thai, and works in the same business as me.

"What did he tell you that made you decide to come here??"

Basically that i would stand a good chance to get some work, since she knows the business.

"What specific "options" are you asking about??"

Visa options, how to do visa runs, maybe specific examples.

"Have you searched the board for specific answers??"

Well,i am new to this, and i should propably do a search.

And i will.Thanks.

At the same time i would be gratefull for any comments.
