Australia, Holden LJ Torana, the Torana has quite a history in racing in which the late Peter Brock made them famous at Bathurst beating the supercar of the day the V8 Ford Falcon with the GTR XU-1 Torana. mca
Round Khon Kaen there are cars from my British youth that died years ago back home. Mk 1 2 and 3 Ford Capris, Escorts and Cortinas and even a couple of Austin A40s which were well before my time.

My 2nd car ever was a Mk 11 Farina A.40 which knocked spots off my first, a 105E Anglia. All those A40s needed were good shocks, Cinturato tyres, and a 1275 S engine. Never could afford that 3rd item! Ford UK redeemed itself for me with the Mk 1 and 2 Escorts. In fact, if you ever see a 2 door version of either for sale over there I'll be with you a.s.a.p. A Ford engine in the front would be nice but not essential, and no back tax to pay, prayerfully. If you see one, please PM me, giving your own e-mail address. Thanks in advance. Can I be second in line please:) Being an owner of a few tasty escorts, I've only seen 4 doors here (I'd have one of thsoe aswell). I have a contact in BKK who buys and sells them (think he's on here too). Maybe next year I'll get one. I visited Chiang Mai in xmas 06-07 and saw a fair few mk1 and mk2 escorts....Just need to look hard enough. I have just found a very special looking mk1 capri. I highly doubt any other farang would have travelled down that stretch of road, might go and stick a cheeky note on it.

I must be even older then because my 1st car was a Mk II A40 Farina which I have to say still provoks fond memories.

BSJ
By my way of thinking.....Old cars are to much hassle, cost to much and don't have reliable parts back-up. Best avoided unless they are American muscle cars. Less than 10 year old cars are generally worth considering and they have modern features that are very handy to have. But as always 'Buyer beware!'. zzaa09
Have seen the odd late 60's/early 70's vintage Fiats. Coups and Bertone Spiders. I take notice only as I am an old Fiat admirer......though, it's changed dramatically, Rangoon {15-20 years ago} was the place to be to view working classics of every sort and model. mca
To all the (older!) Brit car spotters out there. Has anybody ever seen a 2.8 Capri in LOS? God did I want one of those when I passed my test! I had the money to buy a 2nd hand one but no bugger would insure me. BTW saw an Austin 1100 yesterday. The first car I can remember my dad owning. ignis
To all the (older!) Brit car spotters out there. Has anybody ever seen a 2.8 Capri in LOS? Maybe yes, near me I used to see often one, but was told on here it was impossible, I have had my camera in the car ever since but not seen it. It was a green 2.8 injection Mk3, it was LHD, it had a square Thai number plate on top of a long German number plate, it also had a 'D' sticker on it.......... after posting about it on here I was told that they never made any LHD green 2.8i Mk3 Capri

Loz
Ref: Capri THere is a Mk1 Capri that has been butchered!! right here in Korat. Front end is from a 240z Datsun. back end is home made. only the distinctive C posts gave it away to me as a Capri. I swear the Engine will NOT be Ford. Probably 12R 'yota lump. Arguably better!
