Hungarian Or Icelandic Food In Bangkok?

Recommended Posts

Posted

I did already post this in the 'Western Food' section, but since my question is specific to Bangkok, and since it is a quasi-emergency, I figured I'd post here, too.

Anyone know of any Hungarian or Icelandic restaurants in Bangkok?

I know there used to be The Budapest, but I heard it's closed now.

Also, I have been craving some vinarterta (Icelandic prune-based layered cake, preferably with marzipan), has anyone happened to see it in any bakeries?

...long shots, I know, but worth a shot...

I wouldn't normally hazard a guess, but your use of the word "quasi-emergency" got me ! There is an Icelandic guesthouse on the river side of Charoen Krung Road, about 100 metres south of the Main Post Office. I have no idea if they serve food or not, but if they don't, they may know of some place that does.

Coffee Beans in Ekamai and Ruamrudee

mind you...not the chain Coffee Beans, I think its called Coffee Beans by Dao in Ruamrudee. in the same strip as Witch's Oyster bar in Ruamrudee

good luck :)

ohhh, and if the Ekkamai one is closer for you....its in Soi Charoenchai (between Sukhumvit 63 and 71 - ground floor of an apartment building...on the left hand side if you are coming from Ekkamai end of it...I think its either Ekkamai 12, or 10.....)
