Motor Expo 2010- Anyone Get Any Great Deals There Yet?

its only been open a day- but wondering if anyone has been and scored any great deals?

what deals will they give that you can't get at the dealership?

I checked it out today.. Really cool. But i am too poor for a new car now....

I did see a couple of cars with 'free offers just for this show' stickers. We got free insurance, some free accessories and a few other bits and bobs but nothing that I wouldn't have been able to get from a dealer. They have a good prize draw though, if you buy a car at the show you can enter to win another one, the odds for that won't be too bad.

i'll contribute an answer to my question...

there was some offer of financing at 1.88%, and they had the bank right there... (a bank i hadnt heard of previously)

they were offering a few decorative and a few functional accesories free. dont know if its more than what local dealer would give u.

will only find out when i go in the local dealership whether those accesories are also available there...

Does it come with an engine? The H3 I have seen here came with a 6 pot at 220 hp. Thats less power than my Vigo. Should be V8 more than 300 hp

Yes, i should be V8, but the "V8 Hummer 2" cost about 9 million. It wans't for sale there. The Hummer 3 has a 5 cylinder (Vortech, if i spell it right) petrol engine with 242hp. You can always chip it up, A stock Vigo (from factory), doesn't have 200hp either, maybe a 150, i'm not sure. And if i consider to the new Landrover Discovery (6.7 million Baht) or Range Rover (8.2 Million Baht), i guess the Hummer 3 is for a Discount price to compare. I don't understand why a oridinary Discover can cost 6.7 million Baht, as they use to cost about 2.5 million Baht 10 years ago with a 3.9liter V8 engine. So this is 3 times the price as it was 10 years ago. Crazy!

Maby the 328% tax for cars with engine´s over 3Lite helps to boost the price?

Went there early on the first day. Looked around, decided on the MU7. Sat down with the sales guy who wrote out the calculations on a piece of paper. My Mrs. said to him something like "if you want us to put down a deposit now and book a car then you'll have to give us a good discount". He walked away. A couple of minutes later he came back and said "OK, discount 60k". Got out the tipex and redid all the calculations.

from what i have heard it is VERY rare to get a cash discount, let alone a big one like that.

maybe i should have pushed on the $!

i originally checked out pajero sport at a city dealership near my home a while back, then waited until motor show.

motor show said now special 1.88 finance and they would thrown in the usuals like 1st class insurance and several more 'extras' or accesories.

had to think it over for a nite, then decided to go back to the original dealer we met first in the city. i told him the offer from motor show.

he was so happy we came back to him, he gave us the same finance and our choice of any and all accesories on the accesories page!

there was one or two i didnt want like the hood and window wind deflectors etc, but i must have picked out just about all the rest and they said yes to everything.

so while i didnt get a cash discount, i got about 10 of the extras thrown in and will have built a connection with the same garage i will bring it into for service.

Heh..thanks Chivo, but it was really down to the wife! She did all the talking...Good deal you got on the extras. I think we just got insurance and the window tinting. Like you, I'm not a fan of those wind deflectors.
