Chatujak To Swampy

Featured Replies

From Chatujak to Swampy, 2 adults and 5 year old, no luggage, would the BTS to On Nut, to avoid all traffic, then a taxi or a city bus to the airport be the smoothest route?

We have to catch the new bus to Ko Chang which leaves, 7:30 AM from door 8, 1rst floor. This will be on a Thurday morning.

What would be the total travel time from Chatujak to door 8?

Yes OnNut(BTS)/Taxi is at first sight a reasonable option. Chatuchak to OnNut 30 to 40 minutes on BTS. Taxi at that time from OnNut 20 to 30 minutes (cost 150 to 175 baht). Include 20 minutes more for contingency though unless you are a risk taker.

A minivan from OnNut would be cheaper (35 baht per adult) than the taxi, but you might wait 10 minutes for one to show (and I do not know where you wait going out to Swampy) and it would lose another 5-10 minutes stopping off about 5 times to drop/pickup on the way out to Swampy.

On the other hand and looking at the above timings a taxi all the way would surely be less than one hour at that time and unlikely to exceed your combined BTS and taxi fares if hailed on the street. Take a taxi all the way and relax!

Just get a taxi from chatujak and go on the expressway.
