Cd Player With Ipod - Separate Multi-speaker Control Box

Actually looking for two things:

1. a reasonably priced bookshelf-type unit with a CD player and iPod control. Most just have a USB connector, not an iPod hub. Also it should have a line out in addition to separate speakers. I would the run the line out to :

2. speaker control box so I can flip pairs of speakers on/off by my mood (beer by the sala, reading in the house, etc.). Should be able to have about 4-6 pair of speaker outputs. This may need to be powered to handle the load I assume.

Not looking to blow the walls down just get sound around the house without dealing with streaming, wifi, etc. Wired still seems the way to go at this stage.

Here is Chiang Mai. Thanks all.

The only model I can think of that fits the description is this (aside from multiple speaker outputs).

http://www.kenwood.co.jp/products/home_aud..._521/index.html

But it's still new in Japan (just released end last month) and it may never come to Thailand.

Does CD player, amp and iPod dock all have to come in one piece? If a simple USB connection is not acceptable, how about something like this to hook up with a mini system like Denon's?

I know there's such thing as speaker selector switching device but I've yet to seen one in Thailand.

I'll check out Wadia - thanks.

Seems the easiest route may be to use Apple's IPod dock which has a true line out, not like the amplified headphone jack, and cable to any home stereo with an AUX input.

Also, stateside I can get this speaker selector box which has individual pair volume controls and amp impedance protection from using different ohm-rated speaker pairs. Lists for US$300 but I've seen it for about $125.

I believe that would be the simplest solution. With Wadia 170i Transport you would at least need a pair of RCA (unbalanced) cables, not compatible with AUX in that can plug headphone cables, or else a digital input. A feature not even a stand-alone CD player as a single component comes with (unless it's high end), let alone a all-in-one system component. Wadia 170i costs around 20,000 baht in LOS from what I remember, so you would also need a set up that would cost around 100,000 baht probably excluding cables and speakers for it to be worthwhile.
