The 5 Most Widely Believed WWII Facts (That Are Bullshit)

Oh dear,

A great deal of that is BS as well. For instance it was Franklin D who insisted on the unconditional surrender of Germany. Young Winston could see the Red peril and wanted a viable German Army as a western buffer, and to top it all Hitler was an alien !!!!

The 5 Most Widely Believed WWII Facts (That Are Bullshit)

A typical piece of American fact-finding.

Start with statements that these are "The 5 most widely believed facts", when the text is not stating facts, just the author's own opinions, then go on to give extremely distorted interpretations of the actual history as the author's interpretations of counter-arguments.

No one i England believed Churchill would stay on after the war, although he was still leading the Conservative Party. The man was utterly exhausted and very ill be the time the election took place.

And the Indian/other-parts-of-the-Empire dissolution was not a strike against Churchill, it was the price Britain paid for Marshall Aid. The American government insisted on this step, otherwise no aid.

I'll not go into all the other errors in the article, 'cos I'm off on a few days vacation now - it is "Victory of the Great Vietnamese Soldiers over the American Invaders" day tomorrow and then May Day, which for this Socialist country is another holiday.

Scouse humour at it's best.....

Subject: Only in Liverpool.

Simple question about which European country drives on the L/H side of the road, from Merseyside Radio.

A friend (from Liverpool) told me about that Hold Your Plums thingy.

They asked someone "what's Hitler's first name?" and the woman answered Heil!!!

Sbk. would you mind if I suggested the site was mildly interesting, rather than it having reverential fear, wonderment or inspirational awe ?

Personal taste I guess.

(Please insert tongue in cheek before reading)... :)

I liked the pumpkin pi one. So for me, it was quite funny. laugh out loud funny even. I dont' get that very often. And here is LeungKen dashing my joy down the stairs and stomping on it :)

"Come Back Joy" "I'm sorry for the dashing you received. I promise to play quietly in future and not pretend to be "The Guardians" Arts Critic anymore."

..Slumps dejectedly upstage and exits ashamedly stage left.
