June 26, 201015 yr "The Straight Dope" site just informed that snipers allow for the rotation of the Earth when sniping. At 1,000 yards the Coriolis deflection is small but not necessarily trivial. Una computed that at the latitude of Sacramento, a bullet traveling 1,000 yards would be deflected about three inches to the right. The Straight Dope: How does the earth's rotation affect the path of a bullet? WOW!!!!!!. That's the kinde of random fact that I like to learn. I guess it only counts when the sniper is shooting north or south? Oh...hang on, if he was shooting eastwards, would the trajectory be different because the shot takes slightly longer than shooting westwards?
June 27, 201015 yr And remember !!! Wednesday has more letters in it than Monday. This is bound to make a difference and should not be discounted...............
June 27, 201015 yr You want to be particularly careful on days ending in a Y though. Personally I find it best to avoid hard work and serious thought on such days.
June 27, 201015 yr We always used to call the Royal Artillery " Nine Mile Snipers ". Always made me smile.

June 27, 201015 yr Author Body cream with chilli in it really gets quite hot. What an intriguing fact. May I enquire as to how you came by this knowledge eek?
June 27, 201015 yr Here's a random fact. I killed a dog today. A stupid silly puppy of maybe 6-8 months age. Its mother just nearby. I saw the two dogs in the road, I was going maybe 50 km/h, so I slowed to 20 km/h and honked my horn. They both left the road, but at the very last second that stupid gorgeous puppy had to run back into the middle of the road for reasons known only to him. The 10 Thai people who ran out just laughed. I spent 2 hours driving around with a dead puppy on my passenger seat, looking for a shovel on a Sunday afternoon. I buried him across the canal from a very important temple here.. My wife wants to know why I'm drinking. Here's a random fact. Dogs aren't that bright, but I love them dearly. No emoticon for how I'm feeling.
July 1, 201015 yr Body cream with chilli in it really gets quite hot. What an intriguing fact. May I enquire as to how you came by this knowledge eek? I bought some body cream that supposed to improve circulation thus warding off potential dreaded cellulite. Im guessing you know what us women are like, try any lotion and potion that looks interesting. Ingredients are Horse Chestnut and Chilli extract and something else. I had put some on my legs before coming onto Thaivisa...as i was sitting here my legs started to really heat up!! Kinda surprised me the degree of heat..so couldnt help myself randomly posting that fact..

As much as there are FAR too many unattended dogs in Thailand, and probably need a culling, it's still tough to see a puppy killed... and worse still when it's you that kills it.
July 1, 201015 yr You want to be particularly careful on days ending in a Y though. Personally I find it best to avoid hard work and serious thought on such days. That would explain the Y generation...
July 5, 201015 yr I'm thinking of a " Bring Back Tigger " campaign. You know banners, rallies, flag sales, the works. All we need is funding from George for the PR team, offices and one of those big truck caravan things to drive round most of the known western world. He can throw in a few bob for Jessica Alba as well. We'll start Wednesday if he agrees. ( and Jessica's free )

July 6, 201015 yr Not sure the funds will run to a large fish tank.................But hey !! You never know. We could raise our own funds, Maybe have a lecture tour by Gordon Brown on inspirational leadership. Or perhaps that nice Australian chap Howard could give an insight into global cricket management ? If all else fails, I'm sure Ian could run a raffle based on guess Obama's naionality......................The opportunities are endless.

August 19, 201015 yr Thought you would be thrilled to know this bit of worthless information. This month (August), has 5 Sundays, 5 Mondays and 5 Tuesdays. That's amazing, given it only happens every 823 years. We only get to see it on your calendar one time and there will be a lot of people that will never be able to look at their calendar to see those extra days. Ain't that special?! Thought you would be thrilled to know this bit of worthless information. Have a great weekend 5 times this month.

September 6, 201015 yr Author The word 'candidate' comes from the Roman words 'Toga candida", which literally meant 'white Toga'. White Toga's were worn only by those who were entering into an election.

December 19, 201015 yr THE day you are born is the day you are most likely to be the victim of homicide. The perpetrator will almost certainly be your mother. http://www.theage.com.au/national/sins-of-the-mother-the-tragedy-of-neonaticide-20101218-191ee.html
December 19, 201015 yr THE day you are born is the day you are most likely to be the victim of homicide. The perpetrator will almost certainly be your mother. http://www.theage.co...1218-191ee.html Wow...startling thought. I can very well imagine that it is statistically true. I imagine that you're more likely to die by natural causes on the day you are born, too.
