I'm surprised it's not a 6 day official booze infused holiday weekend with the PM adding another 3 days just for good measure.

Just like every other week-end, then ? :)

You might see some of this: Phra Rahu

Nice Link. Thanks for the info. :)

From what I can tell it will only be a partial, as the path doesn't come through Thailand. Here's a good general link:

http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/OH/OH2010.html#SE2010Jan15A

and here's one that shows the path overlayed on Google maps:

I haven't seen any official news about this around Thailand, so I don't think we're in for much of a show. :)

Partial solar eclipse this afternoon; Eclipse will begin at 1:51pm and reach its peak at 3.28pm with 57% of the sun's surface obscured

Public strongly advised not to view sun directly without proper eye protection...

Can see it through two pairs of sunglasses :D , can't get a picture though, which is annoying

Great pic

I got to show my wife, I made a pinhole unit and we could see evrything quite clear in the reflected image. she took a look and went back inside. I am sure she was impressed, she just didn't know how to express herself.

I seem to be the only person in the village that is impressed..

My wife and me bring a wide glass we well smoked before to our son's school.

All the teachers and an endless queue of scholars excited watching the (partial) eclipse.

An interesting unscheduled break.

:)

wonder why it seemed to be getting dark!

Pinhole works fine for me!

As seen through my welder's mask around 4:30 in Chiang Mai.

Grr, in Chiang Mai much more than in KPG!

Was at the pool today; 'round 4ish- though no clouds, and a clear sunny day....it all of a sudden got quite cool.

Remembered looking at the sun briefly a few times, trying to figure out what was the deal.

Hadn't seen this thread till now.

Solar eclipse.....Duh....:)
