Cargo Covers For Pickup Trucks

Featured Replies

Im looking for something that will cover the cargo bed of a 2010 Vigo crew cab pickup. Im tempted to get a simple cover, but I wouldnt mind having something like a bed cap but I have never owned a pickup before and Im not sure of the upsides and downsides of either of them. I will be transporting my dogs from time to time as well as bicycles, and some big radio controlled planes and helicopters.

Thanks!

Pick-up-Truck Canopies:

Positive note: :D Srithepthai, Aeroflex and Vandapac are three decent pick-up truck canopy manufactures here in Thailand, many standard styles to choose from in fiberglass and also ASA & ABS.

Negative note: :) Should not mention? , o-well, Carryboy & CityBoy , probably the cheapest price though the shoddiest quality.

I toyed over this and decided not to bother. I will admit that the Bt30,000 or so at the time we bought it was just a cost too far that month but we were always using the back and I'd previously rented a pick up for a month which had a manual hard top and found that it was a pain in the backside. Once you put stuff in the back then you had issues getting it back out. I heard the motorised version had issues with the motors and them taking up room etc.

My take on it is that maybe some cheap cover is fine but if you really need to protect what is in the back, then a pick up is not the right vehicle. However, the shift from a 800k D-Max to a 1.2m Fortuna is quite a jump. I make no bones about it, I should have bought the Fortuna but cash was a consideration.

When I lived in Japan, removable bed caps for Toyota pickup trucks were available. It took about an hour or two to screw on or unscrew off. Many people hung the cap where they parked their truck and merely lowered it on when they needed it.

Why isn't this option available in Thailand? I'd love a removable bed cap, but have never seen one available here.
