Hi ,

Not that anyone cares , but noticed that the former no1 Dr Pat Pong is defeted of his spot .

Never thought anyone could have more than him , but classifieds got him and gave him the boots ...

Must have something to do with all those advertisements , they won over the shortliners apparently ! :)

Just goes to show that the classifieds site is growing :) Classifieds is actually an RSS feed from the classifieds site

If it is an RSS feed why is he/she /it registered as a member ?

I thought he was an active member in person handling the classifieds ....or not ?

But still he's got some heavy baggage of Pong's back didn't he ......

wheres the link to the classified member ? , i looked on classifieds but couldnt see

note - why are there soooooooooo many google ads in each classified advert !,

An actual person does handle classifieds support, approving or deleting ads. But the post to the forum from the classifieds is a feed.

Thank for the feedback SBK didn't know all that .

Still a bit strange that ' the member ' isn't a member who gives any comments as we do ,

if I understand it rightly every classifieds post is counted onto its number of posts count , while its/he's

not an active social member as we are .......

Do we agree its not actually a member , cause I see it as a kind of machine now ....

well, somebody has to post them, and it aint gonna be me.

Give it to Forbesy, it might keep him to busy to post photo's, but then again he might keep posting without photo's, I am caught between a photo and a written post.

My days are getting darker and darker :)

What's weird is if you re-order the list to show members by total profile views. The most viewed profile? A banned member called "CheapFioricet" who has made no posts and registered last year. Now, obviously it's a spammer, but how did he manage to rack up more than double George's profile views (which have built up over 7 years and are for the most prominent member in the site) in a matter of months?

^Wow, its weird that you even noticed that sort of thing.

It also seems strange that 'classifieds' is considered a member....I appreciated what sbk says but I always considered it to be some kind of 'bot' or something.....whoever or whatever it is, its certainly one posting machine. :)

Maybe a PM spammer?

Yeah, but 75,000+ profile views? That's almost as many hits as we have members. If you view a member's profile as a guest, does it count as a profile view? I.e. could the URL to his member profile, http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/CheapFioricet-m86930.html, be picked up in search engines and get hits that way?

Shoosh. GoogleAds might hear.

didn't look at the number. that is odd, will point george this way.

11 out of the top 20 "profile views" are banned members. :)

Probably people hearing that someone's banned and then clicking into their profile to access their most recent posts to see what heinous crime got them banned... Also any banned member will probably have had a few extra hits from mods checking them out.

There is a line of thought that all the most interesting members have been banned. :):D

It's probably because people go to their profile to see how long it's been since they posted, not realising that they have been banned.

Not many reach a high post count before being banned, as they learn the rules, but there are notable exceptions.

Well, more than you might think actually, depending on what you class as a high post count.

Let's say Bedlam access is the benchmark for a high post count: there are almost 140 banned members who have reached 500 or more posts (plus probably quite a few members who have received a suspension for 100s of years, effectively making them banned but without "banned" appearing underneath their name).

I gathered that the majority of banned members bite the dust in the first few posts.

I know of at least one forum in a galaxy far far away where a test of manhood is to come to ThaiVisa and see how quickly you get banned.

By the way, anyone else noticed that dr_pat_pong is no longer admin, but Honorary Member instead? What's that all about??? :)

He retired for personal reasons I believe.

Well, after 30,000+ posts he's certainly had a fair crack of the whip :)

Shame it went unannounced though after being Admin for over 7 years and one of the founding members of the site...

As opposed to retiring for business reasons I guess. :D
