Buying New Fino -v- Auction/2nd Hand

Featured Replies

Renting a Fino at 3200 baht a month is mounting up. I want my own.

A new Yamaha Premium model goes for 45,500 baht. Includes all paperwork, Tax one year, and 3rd party insurance 1 year.

2nd hand (but not old) goes for around 30 - 35k (I believe). Papers. Probably has some tax on it. Will need to get insurance.

Insurance about 6k??

So..ill be saving about 9500 - 4000 baht only?? Is that right?

If so, im better off just buying new on then right?

Advice would be great, especially if my figures are way off.

Thanks so much!

Buy new.

mandatory state insurance - 400 baht per year

real 3rd class about 2500 baht per year, maybe less

tax around 120 baht per year

vehicle inspection to get tax sticker - 60 baht per year

break downs - covered under warranty

unethical mechanic targetting female farang on repairs - double/triple cost

head aches from break down- free

Thank you Powerband, some good points for me to take on board.

I have another question, if anyone knows. Ive only been to one showroom so far and there was only 2 colours for the Fino Premium available (2009 colours). Is that the only colours that will be available through a Dealer? If so, anyone have any idea if or when a 2010 choice is soon to come out and what the options will be?

Thanks again.

Edit: Oh.and it always a fixed price like that..no promotions or whatever? Ive never actually bought my own vehicle before, so its all new to me. 45,500 for it. Sound right?

There is almost no 'give' in the pricing for new vehicles here .. bikes included. You can, however, negotiate for some freebies such as helmets, jackets and that sort of thing.

I like freebies. :)

Thanks jd.
