Man killed following motorbike versus pick-up crash

PATTAYA: -- In the early hours of Wednesday Morning, Police and Rescue Services were called to the scene of a fatal road accident which occurred on the road running adjacent to the train track along the Eastern Side of Pattaya. The crash occurred close to the Tamsamakee Temple junction at the southern end of the Pattaya stretch of the road and involved a pick-up and a motorbike with sidecar. The driver and passenger of the Black Chevrolet Pick-up remained at the scene but both appeared to be in a drunken state. Initially the men tried to suggest the actual driver of the pick-up had run away, however checks on the car and witnesses confirmed the car was being driven by the registered owner. The vehicle hit the motorbike which was entering the main road. And a high speed collision took place killing the motorbike driver, Khun Amporn aged 60. Both suspects were detained and taken away for further questioning and if it can be proven that one of them was driving the pick-up at the time of the crash, charges will be filed in relation to the crash.
