Karaoke Style English Learning For Thai Person ?

Featured Replies

I am intrigued by Karaoke where the words are running on the screen while the you hear the song simulatanously.

Should be the perfect learning methode if applied to the spoken word.

You hear a text and see the spelling on the screen.

Is something of this kind available?? Spoken English with the words running on screen?

Music is fun to listen to and you can learn some new vocabulary, but I think it's terrible to use as a main method for learning a language. Lyrics don't have to be grammatically correct and are often not literal in meaning.

If you want to hear audio with scrolling text then a dvd with subtitles is a much better choice in my opinion.

*edit to add: If you are looking for something more basic, I have seen some programs for learning English that use this method but I don't know the exact title.

I should have been clearer, sorry. I'm not looking for Lyrics but e.g. passages from a book being read and the typed text running along.

Trying to combine the visualization of letters with hearing the words pronounced.

Many books have audio version. You can read the book and at the same time listen to the audio book.

If you want them to be synchronised, you probably have to create a lylic file or subtitle file and have them work together in the same way as the movies and song.
