Son Of Hamas Founder Spied For Israel

Even this guy knows who the real bad guys are...

The son of one of Hamas's founding members was a spy in the service of Israel

for more than a decade, helping to prevent dozens of Islamist suicide bombers

from finding their targets, it emerged yesterday.

Codenamed the "Green Prince" by Shin Bet, Israel's internal security service,

Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of the Hamas co-founder Sheikh Hassan Yousef,

supplied key intelligence almost daily from 1996. He tracked down suicide

bombers and their handlers from his father's organisation, the Haaretz newspaper

said.

...

Mr Yousef, 32, a convert to Christianity who now lives in

California, has revealed the intrigues of his years as a spy in a new book

called Son of Hamas, much to the concern of Shin Bet, whose operations will be

revealed in detail.

...

Mr Yousef's work will be far more

damaging to Hamas, whose brutality he denounced. Dubai police have suggested

that Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, the top Hamas militant found dead in a hotel room in

the emirate on January 20, may have been betrayed by an insider from the

Islamist movement.

AUSTRALIA has warned Israel it would regard any involvement in the forging or abuse of Australian passports for the killing of a Hamas militant as "not the act of a friend".

Foreign Minister Stephen Smith told parliament this morning that three Australians suspected in the assassination of Hamas militant Mahmud al-Mabuh in Dubai last month appear to have been the victims of passport fraud.

The assassination has been linked in the media by Dubai police to the Israeli security agency Mossad.

This thread is about Shin Bet the domestic security agency which protects women & children from being blown up on buses, not Mossad. But the Mossad agents in this case are heroes all the same.

No kidding. Why would the guy write a book admitting all this? He must have a death wish.

There are many journalists, on all sides of the political spectrum, who risk their lives daily to publish the truth, or in many cases, just the news as they see it.

"Even this guy knows who the real bad guys are..."

Or, he loved the cash.

Considering that he converted to Christianity (which would have put his life in danger from some radical Hamas and Hezbollah), I find it suprising that he still had access to sensitive information.

There is something not quite right with this story.

Well paid and very probably living with a new ID in a witness protection program in the US.

Probably beats the hel_l out of living in a Palestinian camp, even if you do have the best house in the compound.

Yeah, like it blows a big hole in the Israel=bad, Hamas=good stroy line.

I didn't see where it said when he converted. Probably after he got out or else it was done in secret.

True. Although California is massive, I suspect that he would still need to come out of hiding for his ethnic food fix, cultural event or something of the kind. If he went totally American, it's possible they won't find him.

How can some folks keep claiming that they are not apologists for terrorist criminals when they try to prop them up at every opportunity? :)

Speculation.

Whenever he converted, before of after, it actually says alot about his personality.

I don't try to prop them up. I don't condone what they do...per se.

My contention is that if they were treated fairly in the first place (1930's to begin with, but most significantly in 1947-8), they would not need to react now.

Who was it that said in this forum, "Payback sucks", or words to that effect?

Good things about his personality IMHO.

So are you saying that someone that converts to Christianity is a good person?

I never saw you as a Bible-basher.

so are you saying that people who convert to Christianity to should be killed?

If someone from a strict Muslim background switches to Christianity, it sounds like there could be all kinds of repercussions -isn't it actually illegal in some places? - so it seems like they would most likely be very sincere in their faith.

Muslims converting to any other religion are subject to a fatwah being declared against them and can be subject to the death penalty.

Has there not been a case of Israeli (Mossad) agents using Australian or NZ passports before and that caused a big issue a few years back?

The "Untouchables" in the end had to formally excuse for it. Big deal ain't it?

Muslims converting to any other religion are subject to a fatwah being declared against them and can be subject to the death penalty.

according to age old sharia law the answer is yes but this law is nowhere enforced.

Jews and Muslims were forced to convert to christianity during the time of inquisition.

that murderers are heroes is an interesting theorie. what is your middle name Chuck? perhaps Moishe? Shalom? Dovidl? Avraham? :)

"Honor" killings of young girls and women certainly are! :D

that happened in old Europe too. but then christianity is several centuries older and honour killings were abolished. give the Muslims a few centuries too to reach that status. :)

the "holier than thou" attitude "they are the bad 'uns" in this thread is interesting. typical for those who suffer from inferiority complexes.

Germans that defend religious nuts who kill young girls and then insinuate that other posters that they disagree with are "Jews" is kind of "interesting" too. whistling.gif

Where have the Muslims been for the last 'several centuries' that they are the only group that missed the advent of maturing wisdom? Certainly not all Muslims are terrorists (nor all Germans Nazies). But all terrorists appear to be Muslim. Why is that? Why are there no Jewish terrorists?

We know why there are no Nazie terrorists for they like to see the torture first hand rather than shoot down planes or fly them into buildings. Or perhaps the Nazies are not sophisticated enough. What do you think Naam? You seem to have some special knowledge about this topic.

Err.... don't let me interrupt your attack on Naam but there are still a some non Muslim terrorists around.

There's even a few Communist ones running around in the PI, I once had a girlfriend who was a NPA supporter, which was handy if you were travelling out in the sticks.

A lot stopped being terrorists and became freedom fighters after they won as well. :)

-when the Nazi regime ended i was 15 months old. my knowledge has faded since then and i can't help out. to the best of my knowledge Nazi terrorists never existed but Nazi criminals existed galore.

-of course all terrorists are Muslims. the catholic IRA terrorists always used to carry a Qr'an with them and read a sura before they murdered a british policeman or depositing some bombs.

-it is well known that the christian Baader-Meinhof group bombed and killed in the name of Islam.

-jewish terrorists never existed. Menachem Begin was Chairman of the jewish Society for protecting animals and the murderers of Dubai are heroes, not terrorists.

-it is non of your nor my bloody business to ask where the Muslims have been during the last few centuries.
