To be honest, I'm perplexed by this. What's is with the soft <deleted>. It was his ex wasn't it ? Move on, you big jesse

My thoughts entirely. Maybe Terry allows him to smack him one, shake hands. End of.

just posted in the england thread about it but i think there's more to it than just terry. if the rumours are true that half the chelsea squad went through bridge's ex then the poor fuc_ker must be in pieces.

that said, warnock and baines are ahead of him in the squad queue anyway.

Exactly, by all accounts she is just some bird that was the local bike that he knocked up.

Anyway he's crap and has been for years im wondering if its not a case of him being dropped.

city play chelsea at the weekend don't they? a career-ending scythe from bridge on terry would be superb.

Not for us folk wanting England to do well in the WC this year.

The way Bridge has been playing he'll probably miss Terry. Whats really interesting is that he was way down the list of her alleged conquests at the bridge. Must have been the only time Mutu scored when he was at Chelsea.

I have a feeling Bridge would come second (again :) ).

He will probably 'bottle' that fixture as well.

Whilst you guys feel Bridge is somehow being less of a man by withdrawing from selection, my feeling is the opposite.

I wouldn't want to play along side Terry either, and it wasn't my bird he shagged - although with a penis that has been that far and wide, can any of us be sure....

Au contraire. I think Mutu's problem was he was scoring a little too much (Colombian marching powder) when he was at Chelsea.

Agreed & i'm also adament that we don't need 2 LB's going anyway with Barry there, that's assuming Cashley's fit of course..

You know, all the stuff about the Missus & telling him to get on with it, apparently as Stevie says, it wasn't just Terry, Terry's just the only Lemon to have got " caught " that's all & at the end of teh day, ex or no ex ( & i think they were together at the time anyway ) she is also the Mother of his Child remember..

Perhaps after the world cup would be better :)

John Terry did the right thing by offering his hand. Bridge did the right thing by ignoring it.

If only he had shown the same steel with regard to his England position.

Hang on a minute, let's not make Bridge out to be the bad Guy in all this, this arsehol_e of a Human Being who was meant to be one of his best Pals, rumped the Mother of his Child & all of a sudden we're talking about the steel of Wayne Bridge ??

Wow !!!!

Team Bridge won the day today, in more ways than one, Chelsea Supporters who booed him should be absolutely ashamed of themselves..

How on Earth anyone can condone the actions of JT just sums up what sort of Person they are in my book..

Bellamy Interview after the Game : "I know what JT is like, and nothing surprises me about him, so I am still not gonna comment on that guy. I think everyone in football knows what that guy is like"

Stop being a drama queen. It was Bridge's EX girlfriend and she was, therefore, fair game (or so it seems by the number of the squad who went through her).

I don't condone what Terry did I am just saying that the situation does not warrant Bridge withdrawing from the England squad. No one will convince me he was right to do this either for himself or, more importantly, for the England team. In my view he has let the team down for what is only a minor domestic incident.

A mate shagging your ex-girlfriend for God's sake - get a grip Wayne !

Wow, the Mother of his Child & you find that acceptable & call it a minor domestic incident & call her fair game ??

The Facial expressions say a lot i think..

My opinion of Craig Bellamy has gone up considerably

Agreed. Although mine starts from a very low base.

Hats off to City though, for a real title-altering result. Bridge should wake up today and think "Yeah. Point proved. Where's Capello's number".

Capello must be having some thoughts about JT's form don't you think?

It says alot when someone like Bellamy is saying or not saying about JT. Most people only see what JT does on the field. But off the field is where you find out what kind of person he is. It just goes to show that hes not liked as a person. But as a player he is respected.

Carmine - agree re JT's form. I think his confidence is shattered, no matter how much of a sly, cowardly braggart he is off the pitch, his form on it has definitely been affected.

• Palmer at Stamford Bridge

The build-up to the game had been dominated by the first on-field meeting between Terry and Wayne Bridge following the Chelsea captain's alleged affair with the mother of Bridge's young son and Bridge was even booed by the Blues fans during the match.

''You guys [the media] make a lot more of it you know,'' Bellamy told Sky Sports 1. ''I know what JT is like and nothing surprises me about it, so I'm not going to comment on that. I think everybody in football knows what the guy is like, but that's off the field.

''On it he's an outstanding player. He's a great captain for Chelsea. It's always going to be difficult when you play him and his team.''

Bellamy admitted the result was a big boost for City's hopes of qualifying for the Champions League

''Today was a big, big result for us because we have come away from the last month, we haven't been playing particularly well and it showed in the first half when we got going with the counter-attack with Carlos up there, especially on his own, which was difficult,'' he said. ''I thought we got closer to him in the second half and we've got players that can score goals.''

City boss Roberto Mancini paid tribute to Bridge's recent performances for the club, and praised the way his team-mates had rallied round him during his personal troubles.

''Wayne Bridge has been playing well and this team has a fantastic spirit and for this reason we won this game,'' he said. ''It was a difficult game because Chelsea is a fantastic team and has played for many years in the Champions League.''

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti said: ''It was not a good day. The only good thing from today is that we still have one point more than Manchester United. We have more chance to win the title than either them or Arsenal because that is what the table says.''

Ancelotti blamed the astounding reverse on his team losing their shape. He refused to condemn stand-in keeper Hilario, even though he seemed clearly at fault for City's opening two goals, and Terry was absolved of blame completely.

''The players were not distracted,'' Ancelotti added. ''The Manchester City players were not distracted. We made mistakes but John Terry did not make any. This thing has not affected his form. There is no reason to take him out of the team. There is no way. He is our captain.''

Absolutely.

I think Bridge has come out of this (is coming out of this) with a lot more dignity. However, I personally wish he could let it go now, he's made his point quite clearly last night and should put his name back in the picture for England. Why shoot yourself in the foot because of someone else's actions.

I think he should let it go now too, because as you say he has made his point, and made it well. However, i do think his presence in the England dressing room would be divisive. Mindyou, at this stage, the way current form is shaping up, will terry be there? Since this fiasco came out, has'nt he been at fault for three goals His body language is aweful. The cocky swagger has gone.

All this said, who is there to replace him :)
