Bang Na intersection closed

BANGKOK: -- The Expressway and Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (Erta) has announced the closure of the Bang Na-At Narong route for outbound traffic at certain periods for road construction.

The first closure affects outbound traffic at the Bang Na intersection heading to Chon Buri. The section has been shut down from 10pm to 5am nightly since Wednesday and will be shut tonight and tomorrow night for road resurfacing. During this period traffic will be redirected to exit the expressway on Sukhumvit 62. Drivers then turn right at Sukhumvit Road before turning left at the Bang Na-Trat junction.

Another closure will affect the overpass or “Ramp B” at Bang Na that carries inbound traffic near the Bitec exhibition centre to Phra Khanong.

The ramp is closed indefinitely between 9am and 5am.

This is bad timing. Most schools go back next week and this closure won't help the inevitable traffic jams. Could really gum up the eastern suburbs.

Don't worry, any tailback would be clear by 6am.
