Hi all,

Good day, sorry for the disturbance but just want to know if i am traveling from singapore on the 15th march to the 20th march to bkk, will my flight be affected?

In any case amidst of the protest going on, whats the chances of the airport being closed?

Looking forward to the favorable replies and advices, thanks in advance.

Cheers!!

As it was said to Julius Caesar by a soothsayer , ' beware the ides of March ' (March 15th), which he ignored and he was assassinated in 44BC, so is there any significance in this date at all...?? If so, for whom...........?? :)

:)

Quite frankly, right now nobody really knows. You can hear people saying everything from nothing will really happen to the start of a civil war. But right now it's all guesswork.

Yea true enough, mostly are assumptions.. But reason being in my local papers they wrote about the airport having some contingency plans, and that there might be disruption or even a blockade on the 11-23march due to a rally being help this 14th march at who knows where... thats what got me worried haha

Ha well, I am flying into Bangkok this Monday also and don't worry a second :D

Do wonder if I will see any of the red actions paralyzing Bangkok and frigthening the powers in place though :D

Don't forget the yellow shirts were given "carte blanche" to occupy whatever strategic Bangkok sites they liked to cut form the world.

Be sure similar hijackings will not be tolerated in return, all Thais are equal to the law isn't?

What a scary bunch of farangs here :)

I doubt anything worthwhile mentioning will happen, I rather think boring days lay ahead next week. Non-news?

I'm picking up on the 15th too.

I've got to travel from Korat to get there. I'm not an alarmist. Its just the people waiting at the other end are in their 70s and don't speak Thai. I'm thinking of driving down tonight/tomorrow am and making sure I can get holed up in the Airport pending thier arrival. I'd hate to not be able to be there for whatever reason. And I'm sure they have hotels there, right?

same same but different from past demonstrations : present PM is not playing golf and spent a lot of time listening to all major people now to be in harmony with The King, the Army, the Bangkok Police and the Bangkokian similarly there are restrictions to non bangkok vehicles registratins, no petrol sales etc...etc...therefore either a surpsiing violence or the chapter is over. Thaksin is gambling and as such is certainly not a good loser. Let's pray for the present PM what we can call but not write not to upset any one, success, winning star. Not dreaming only seeing as reported the facts.
