I have always had a theory that the Mega Rich amongst us such as Thaksin,Murdoch,Maxwell (while alive) Gates,Soros

etc, have a fear of dying and hence they cacoon themselves in unbelievable wealth in the hope or belief that they are too

important to be a mere mortatal and die like all of us?

I think there would be a lot more billionaires in the world, if the fear of death were the motivation to wealth. Death comes to all via the shut down of the vital body functions, thus we all have the common trait of being mere mortals.

One of the things money cannot buy is eternal life, it can certainly enhance the years we have though.

Another thing the rich cannot buy is the lives of their children. They seem to suffer from drug overdoses and suicide at a similar rate to the bourgeoisie.

In regard to thaksin it's well established that he is very superstitious.

Some years back somebody rushed in and smashed the highly revered shrine on the Hyatt Erawan corner in Bangkok.

Many Thais believed it was in fact thaksin who engineered the smashing of the shrine, in the belief that it would stop his run of 'bad luck'!

His biggest fears is people no longer listening to him

and not being able to hear his own voice

Conversation in Thaksins hotel room ...

From Thaksin "mirror mirror on the wall, who is the smartest of them all"

No response from the mirror

From Thaksin "mirror mirror on the wall, who is the smartest of them al"

From Thaksin "Hello housekeeping ... I need a new mirror, the one in my

room does not work properly"
